How We Pulled 100+ Content Ideas Out of Thin Air (In 3 Hours)
Feb 17, 2025
Confession: I have run many workshops where I've been in a room with a nonprofit team who started the session looking exactly like a group of people forced to attend a surprise tax seminar.
Overwhelmed. Tired. Dreading yet another year of throwing random content into the void and hoping something stuck.
I can understand it. Creating content week in and week out can be dang hard!
Luckily the brainstorming session I ran for a client last week, started off with some very enthusiastic attitudes and we were able to create some epic outcomes in a really tight schedule.
We started brainstorming—fast, messy, no bad ideas. And before we knew it, they had over 100 content ideas staring back at them. Things they could use, reuse, and remix all year long.
Once we had that challenge nailed, we tackled a full 12-month content plan creating their first ever annual plan. They aren’t just “posting to post” anymore. They had a strategy AND heaps of content ideas with real, tangible outcomes.
Which brings me to you.
If you’re still in the “ugh, what do we even talk about?” phase of the year, you’re not alone. But you don’t have to stay there.
Here’s what I’d do: Pick 3-5 key themes (fundraising, volunteer stories, impact updates—whatever matters most to your org).
Brainstorm every possible post, email, or piece of content that fits those themes.
Organise them into a loose plan so you’re never staring at a blank page again.
Or, you know, let me help you do it in record time.
Either way, let’s make this the year your nonprofit stops scrambling and starts showing up strategically.
Hit reply and tell me: What’s your biggest content struggle right now? I’d love to help.
Talk soon,
Alecia
